The Shared Forest project, which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and managed by the Commoners Defence Association, is working to increase public awareness and understanding of grazing animals and commoning in the New Forest. The following links contain much interesting information to start you thinking about your break in the New Forest! Caring for the Forest Who are the commoners? Who owns the ponies?
We have made some further improvements to our bedrooms to enhance the comfort of our guests: Top quality new pocket sprung mattresses in Lyndhurst and Burley rooms and complete new zip and link divan beds in Beaulieu room. Redecoration and refurbishment of Burley room. A fridge on the second floor landing for the use of guests.
We have a policy of continual upgrading and refurbishment. For 2015, we have made the following improvements: The raised flower bed has been moved from the centre of the car park entrance to the side to give more space in the car park, thus making parking much easier! As part of making the new flower bed, we decided it was time for a new ‘Whitemoor House’ sign. New, draught-free front porch and front door. Exbury room has been completely refurbished and decorated. Lyndhurst room has been redecorated and Minstead room refurbished. We’ve upgraded to larger TVs in four of our rooms so far. And lastly – it’s only a little thing, but small things matter…. fresh milk is now available for your tea tray!
